"I'm not sure why, but each book gets better and better. And by why, I mean to say that I'm not sure exactly what's changing. Maybe the stories are better, maybe the writing (by translation) is better, maybe it's just me. I've been listening to this series mostly on audiobook, following along in the book when I can, and sometimes the book would have me so captivated in wanting to know what words were coming next that I'd stop what I was doing and just stand there listening, staring at nothing. This was especially true of the last few pages/minutes of the book. Though I paid attention just fine the first time, I replayed and reread the ending about 3-4 times. Id still give it 4 stars, but I have a feeling the next one may be 5! (This one is 4.5/5☕ to be exact)"
"This was a fantastical take on time travel and persons reasons of doing so. I felt transported to a cafe in Hokkaido, Japan. The use of creative structure of the book enhances the human element of how one thinks and feels. This book is a tearjerker, but in the most humanistic way possible. Favorite quote is, “Indifference is self-destructive…” "
"This was fine but I didn't enjoy it as much as the other two books in the series so far. Mostly tragic dead woman stories about guys."

"Before Your Memory Fades is the third installment in the Before the Coffee Gets Cold series. These books are best read in order. This time a few changes are made as we are taken to a different café with some new characters, but also a few familiar faces and the same familiar rules for time travel.

As with the other two books, there are four short stories about people who want to travel back in time for various reasons, but the overarching theme throughout is loss, grief, and finding joy again after that significant loss. These stories will definitely tug at your heart and I really like the interactions between all the characters. This is one of my favorite series and I would highly recommend them. I can't wait to read the next installment!

My thanks to Harlequin Trade Publishing, Hanover Square Press, author Toshikazu Kawaguchi, and NetGalley for gifting me a digital copy of this book. My opinions are my own."
