Everything I know is a lie. I'm an ordinary mortal girl. Lord Irrik is a depraved dragon shifter. King Irdelron is an immortal tyrant. In the disease ridden land of Verald, life is mapped out much like the established rings of our kingdom. Everyone has a role... Me? I'll be uselessly serving potato stew for the rest of my life because I can't make anything grow. But starvation brews rebellion. When the king strikes, I'm captured by Lord Irrik. Instantly, I'm embroiled in a deadly game. One where I'm desperate to understand the rules. Because nothing makes sense anymore. Now, I'm not only fighting for my life . . . but a love that could be the key to my freedom. What if the truth means you're not who -- or what -- you thought you were?

"I really liked it! It was fun and interesting. Only thing that bothered me was the fact that the plot makes NO sense! Why the hell would they kill each other at the school and lose their quintet perks if the whole point of going was to bond and break the curse! It bothered me so much I took a star off for it. But other than that, a great read."
"This book took my breath away, not only was the plot thorough and thought out but the way that the romance weaved itself into the mystery of the characters is an emotional rollercoaster that you never want to end. The main character is a total mystery to both the readers and her love interests ( and yes I mean interests!) while her lovers are open books to the readers and each other. The way that the emotions were written in this book were absolutely outstanding and it felt as if I were in the book right along with them. The magic system is a little confusing in the beginning but as you read it definitely gets easier to read but I can not express how much praise I want to give to both the book and Morgan B. Lee."
"This was... surprisingly good? The mc is silly and has a bad sense of humour, in a good way. Most of the twists are things I was expecting/saw coming except for one bit about ty, and tyr both really being Irrik, or Tyrrik, rather. Though I feel like there were times when the mc was being a bit too peppy for someone who’s spent the last month or do being tortured and whatnot. So, overall, not bad at all"
"the concept was cool - dragon shifters and healers and hunger-games-like harvesting factions and rebellion.

I would say the plot twist/reveal at the end is what made me rate 3 stars instead of 2. I really did not see Ty, Tyr, and Irrick being the same person at all. Takes a lot to shock me these days.

overall, this book was…. interesting

basically this girl can grow and heal things with her bodily fluids LOLLLLL (unique, i guess?) basically spit and tears and blood and stuff"
