Jessi Klein
From Emmy award-winning comedy writer Jessi Klein, You'll Grow Out of It hilariously and candidly explores the journey of the 21st-century woman. As both a tomboy and a late bloomer, comedian Jessi Klein grew up feeling more like an outsider than a participant in the rites of modern femininity. In You'll Grow Out of It, Klein offers - through an incisive collection of real-life stories - a relentlessly funny yet poignant take on a variety of topics she has experienced along her strange journey to womanhood and beyond. These include her "transformation from Pippi Longstocking-esque tomboy to are-you-a-lesbian-or-what tom man," attempting to find watchable porn, and identifying the difference between being called "ma'am" and "miss" ("miss sounds like you weigh 99 pounds").Raw, relatable, and consistently hilarious, You'll Grow Out of It is a one-of-a-kind book by a singular and irresistible comic voice.

"Being the memoirs of a comedy writer, I expected this to be funny. The words, themselves are, but the narration, but the author herself, rather than fun and conversational, is dry and whiny, which actually make the whole audiobook just depressing. I recommend reading this one instead of listening."
"I loved this book because it is just quirky and about a person who wants to be a “prinzzess” as she says but everything gets in her way. She is very funny and the way she reads so deadpan makes me laugh so hard because she seems like a funny lady so her delivery is perfect!! I’m a fan of personal essays and read plenty of them. It was incredible to hear jessi’s story!!!"
"There are a lot of essays in this collection that don't speak to me specifically, as I am not a woman and will never give birth. However, Klein speaks to truthfully of the human condition that a lot more of it is relatable, no matter who you are. Also, I laughed out loud more than once, which is always a nice thing to happen when reading a book."
