"First I want to say that I enjoyed Agatha Christie's mysteries and of course the Intelligent, meticulous force that is Hercule Poirot. But I've come to realize that they just aren't for me.

Maybe it is the time the books were written or the fact that I'm not afforded the necessary pages to get to know the characters and their perspective backgrounds. Still Agatha Christie is a formidable who-done-it writer make no mistake.

Even so I enjoyed Death on the Nile. More so that it took place on the river. Still there isn't much world building which is my favorite. Always while reading Agatha's book I just choose a character and hope I am right. Because even if you think you know, you cannot be sure.

Same here. I nailed down a character or two. Then the whole book I bounced back and forth being wrong and right. I applaud this author and respect her immensely. These stories have influenced so many others. My taste have just evolved into character depth and world descriptions I'm afraid."
"The murder mystery as morality play. A simple pleasure cruise down the Nile is tainted by deception, jealousy, revenge, thwarted ambition, kleptomania and alcoholism. No one (almost) is quite what he or she seems, but everyone gets what they deserve, thanks to the brilliance and earnest humanity of Hercule Poirot."
"Agatha Christie did it again! I was completely fooled, and I loved it. I have really enjoyed the other books in this series, and of course there is a movie planned for 2020 on this one, so I wanted to stay ahead of it and read it prior. I’m so glad I did, and I’m so glad that a book as classic as this one can still completely take me by surprise. Christie was a rare woman who could tell a great mystery, and I will keep working my way through her novels for that reason!"
