"Strong writing and a decent twist characterize this slow moving cold-case crime story / murder mystery. However, there wasn't a strong hook or sense of urgency, so I almost didn't finish it. Further, the timeline and POV jumps were confusing and disruptive in places, at least in the audio rendition. And the strong female lead was not terribly engaging or likeable. But it was the giant plot hole just before the end that was the most disappointing.

Still, you might enjoy this book if you like small town murder with a true crime feel - with a lot of courtroom drama thrown in for good measure.

Mature themes including kidnapping, violence, and references to (but no descriptions of) rape and torture. Inferred sexual interlude but no description."
