Aly Raisman
Discover Aly Raisman's inspiring story of dedication, perseverance, and learning to think positively even in the toughest times on her path to gold medal success in two Olympic Games—and beyond. Aly Raisman first stepped onto a gymnastics mat as a toddler in a "mommy & me" gymnastics class. No one could have predicted then that sixteen years later, she'd be standing on an Olympic podium, having achieved her dreams. Aly's road to success was full of hard work, perseverance, and victories, but not without its hardships. Aly faced many obstacles, from naysayers who said she'd never make it in gymnastics to classmates who shamed her for her athletic body to a devastating betrayal of trust. Through it all, Aly surrounded herself with supportive family, friends, and teammates and found the inner strength to remain positive and believe in herself. Now, in her own words, Aly shows what it takes to be a champion on and off the floor, and takes readers on a behind-the-scenes journey before, during, and after her remarkable achievements in two Olympic Games--through her highest highs, lowest lows, and all the moments in between. Honest and heartfelt, frank and funny, Aly's story is enhanced with never-before-published photos, excerpts from the personal journals she's kept since childhood that chronicle memorable moments with her teammates, and hard-won advice for readers striving to rise above challenges, learn to love themselves, and make their own dreams come true.

"This book is officially the best memoir I have ever read. Disclaimer: I have not read a lot of memoirs. However this is still a very awesome book. I have always just read mostly fantasy books, but when I was told I had to read a memoir for my english class I wanted to read about a gymnast. However I had never heard of Aly Raisman before so she was a settle for me since I wanted to read something else, through their book for me hooked from the start. I paced myself so I finished it in two weeks (which I recommend doing) and I looked forward to reading it everyday. I have got to say that Aly Raisman is an incredible person to read about! The struggles she goes through are unimaginable to the average human being. She pushed through at one point small spoiler (it mentions it in the very beginning so) she misses her high school graduation to compete. She is very awe inspiring. If you have always dreamed to be a gymnast or anyone point wanted to be this is the book for you. Bit deep for little kids. I recommend it for older kids (middle school and high school). I loved this book so much!! It is so motivating and very eye opening. She seriously is very hardcore when it comes to gymnastics competing in two Olympics (mentions it in beginning so not really spoiler). Please!!!!! Read this book!!! If you love gymnastics defiantly read it! I have got to say it changed the way I think of memoirs. It t is very interesting to see how legends got to where they are today and to compare their childhood to your own. Thank you for reading this"
