"3.8* on my Sanderson ranking scale. This was a rather enjoyable, fun, adventurous read. Yes, it was short, but that's why it's called a <i>short</i> story. <br/><br/>I do wish I had been able to read this during the break between the release of Steelheart and Firefight as it would have been a nice little tidbit of a story to hold me over. Alas, I didn't. I read it now and it was still enjoyable.<br/><br/>Read it for the metaphors. Read it for the new Epic. Read it for more insight into the world. But mostly, read it for the secrets. There's always another secret."

"Brandon Sanderson is a genius when it comes to action. Steelheart was awesome and it was nice to visit the Reckoners in Newcago for a little entertainment. It was fun but much too short. Looking forward to reading Firelight soon. Steelheart , the first book in the series, and this short story are highly recommended for those reluctant readers and those who enjoy a twist in their science fiction/fantasy reads. In this series, the superheroes (aka Epics) are the villains and regular people with no abilities have to fight for their freedom from the tyranny of the power-hungry Epics. The Epics destroyed the world as we knew it and rule the new world through fear. This short story is about a very different Epic and David, with the help of his friends in the Reckoners have to find a way to defeat Mitosis before another tyrant takes control of Newcago."
