How do you punish an immortal? By making him human. After angering his father Zeus, the god Apollo is cast down from Olympus. Weak and disoriented, he lands in New York City as a regular teenage boy. Now, without his godly powers, the four-thousand-year-old deity must learn to survive in the modern world until he can somehow find a way to regain Zeus's favor. But Apollo has many enemies—gods, monsters, and mortals who would love to see the former Olympian permanently destroyed. Apollo needs help, and he can think of only one place to go . . . an enclave of modern demigods known as Camp Half-Blood.

"I love the language used in this book. This is the first Riordan book I've picked up that had me look up terms. Which fully makes sense when you see inside a self-centered ancient god.
The only thing is that this very much feels like the first book in a series. A lot of set up, a lot of talk. It was a relief when the action started. That said I'm ready for the next in the series. "
"This series is great and you don’t have to read the 10 books before. It will help if you do but I managed just fine and ended up reading the whole percy jackson series upside down"

"This book/ series is a side series surrounding the Percy Jackson series. It’s about the quests Apollo must go on after being banished to earth"
