"Good book. There were some moments this was a slog but that’s the nature of a road trip. Ingenious premise where people of different nations bringing the myths, legends, and divinities of their home country but what happens when they forget about them? What about the traditions of the US? The all but named deification of technology? Such a unique blend of old and new that whenever the gods were on page you couldn’t help but enjoy their conversations and going-ons. The only thing I didn’t like was the comment on indigenous people’s beliefs along the lines of “We don’t praise gods, we praise the land.” I don’t know much about the native beliefs in the Americas but I can tell that’s a gross simplification. Still recommend the book. "

"Neil Gaiman is so good. American Gods is great for people who like mythology. Some of the characters are very obvious and others you have to really clue in to get it. "

"If you're a fan of urban fabtasy this is a must-read. A thought-provoking look at the clash and melding between the Old World and the New."

"I tried so hard to like this book and I couldn't. It took me ages to finish cause I wasn't drawn in, there are so many characters but they're not very complex. It was overall very self important without actually saying much about the anti-assimilation message it was attempting to convey."

"Not what I was expecting but still enjoyed. It was much more abstract than I thought it would be, which isn’t a negative thing. Felt a bit like a fever dream… trying to grasp bits and pieces of the book and make it fit into something tangible, but failing to do so. "

"Of course Neil Gaiman's writing flows very well and is easy to read. This plot was very unique as in the new Gods of America. Iv never really thought of it that way but it makes a lot of sense getting more away from the natural world and closer to technology. I enjoyed the stories to how how the Gods came to America. The ending was a little underwhelming. The story didn't swell very much to a dramatic finish it just kind of panned out till the end. But overall this Author has an amazing way of telling stories."
