"This was an AMAZING book. I took a couple breaks in between reading because the book was so long, BUT it was so worth it to finish. What a journey these pages and characters and THE AUTHOR took me on. A perfect tale of love, strength, revenge, and rehabilitation. Estrella was such a beautiful character, she was so realistically depicted as a mother, fighting for her sons freedom from her abusive, devil of a husband who wants him dead. She does what she has to, to protect her son, willing to go to great lengths to keep him safe. Along the way she manages to fall in love, find friends, build family, and get closure. One of my favorite things about this book is that Estrellas journey and traumas were never sugarcoated. She went through all stages of trauma/ grief and her life was never painted as something “easy” to get over, like many book where the woman falls in love and forgets about all her issues. While her journey in life was devastatingly sad, she came out stronger each time something went wrong. I don’t have enough time or suitable words to explain just have beautifully this book has captured my soul but I will say that I will never regret/ forget this beautiful book."
