Tomie Kawakami is a femme fatale with long black hair and a beauty mark just under her left eye. She can seduce nearly any man, and drive them to murder as well, even though the victim is often Tomie herself. While one lover seeks to keep her for himself, another grows terrified of the immortal succubus. But soon they realize that no matter how many times they kill her, the world will never be free of Tomie. -- VIZ Media

"Such a great manga. Junji Ito has such a great way of drawing body horror, and it really disturbs me. While Tomie is not necessarily the scariest of his works, or even the best, it is still a great story. Tomie is such an interesting character, because she is complex in a way that I can’t even describe. She seduces men because that’s who she is, but then she faces the consequences. But, she doesn’t know why she has to! One of my favorite chapters was the one depicting her of old age, because it really shows you how self conscious she really is. Overall, amazing manga with amazing artwork, def recommend."
"Tomie takes on the facade of an unusually beautiful woman and is able to seduce almost any man. She typically goes for artistic types as she wants her beauty, really her glamour she takes on, to be immortalized. There is always some point where the man she's currently targeting starts to see her true form which is horrifying. If they ever let on, Tomie tries to murder them but often she gets double-crossed. However, these encounters always seem to leave her only extremely injured and as if she goes and hides away somewhere to heal, only to come back at full health to continue the cycle. This is my explanation of the character. This volume is all stories about Tomie."
"It's an awesome manga. Definitely should. "

"I love Tomie. I know she'd only laugh, so this book is the closest thing to having her.. these pages should be burned so I can keep her all to myself. - I initially thought the plot was moving a bit slow, but soon I couldn't wait to see what happened next. I loved it, truly, the visuals are stunning and the story was fascinating. Also great inspiration for monster creation; multi-faceted in the best way."
