Darcy Coates
USA Today bestseller and rising queen of atmospheric horror Darcy Coates returns with a ghost story that will haunt you long after the final page. She hears them whispering... Homeless, hunted, and desperate to escape a bitter storm, Keira takes refuge in an abandoned groundskeeper's cottage. Her new home is tucked away at the edge of a cemetery, surrounded on all sides by gravestones: some recent, some hundreds of years old, all suffering from neglect. And in the darkness, she can hear the unquiet dead whispering. The cemetery is alive with faint, spectral shapes, led by a woman who died before her time...and Keira, the only person who can see her, has become her new target. Determined to help put the ghost to rest, Keira digs into the spirit's past life with the help of unlikely new friends, and discovers a history of deception, ill-fated love, and murder. But the past is not as simple as it seems, and Keira's time is running out. Tangled in a dangerous web, she has to find a way to free the spirit...even if it means offering her own life in return. "I loved it. This is one of the rare types of spooky/scary books that I always try to find because I love to read them. They're not too scary or dark or anything. There are no graphic descriptions, no major violence, and no profanity and it's a great, clean read. I can't wait to read the next book in this series and I think Darcy Coates may be a new favorite author for me now."
"I didn't have much faith on this book at first. Sure, the writing is really nice, but the pacing got kind of slow at times. Normally I prefer books that won't let me go a day without at least reading a chapter or two, but this time I read mostly out of duty than out of fun.

HOWEVER.

During the latter half of the book? This kind of got really cool. Now I may be a filthy weeb, but I think this has some sort of fanfiction-like vibes. Don't get me wrong, this is definitely praise coming from me. The characters are so lovable: Mason made my heart skip a beat, Zoe is best girl, all in all it solidified a lot near the end.

Definitely going to read the second book."
"This book was so good! I'll admit the first few chapters were slow, however they gave you the context that was needed and after I made it past those chapters, I couldn't put the book down! The ending made me choked up and almost shed a tear which is surprising from a book so suspenseful and thrilling!"
"I would give this book a 3 star review because, even though the concept of the book is good the main plot was very frustrating, there was so many plot holes, and so many questions that remained unanswered."
