"Being an rpg god I had to give this book a try (σ≧▽≦)σ . Not going to lie though at the beginning when Montana leaves his God sword and shield at the bottom of a hole with no intentions of ever returning threw me for a loop. But even without them I found his character to be too OP (over powered). So from experience being OP makes the game much too easy and a bit boring.

Obviously the book had good world building. But the story is mostly about the main character leveling up. Later on you learn that he has struggled in life and wants to make it easier. Montana is very funny learning as he goes but he is keeping to many details away from the reader. I knew practically nothing about his past life and in sn entire month he somehow goes without thinking about it once. Which I find impossible.

Also I found the xp and points talk to be quite interesting. From the comments I know it bugged some but from a gamers point of view that's where the magic happens. You just have to take a chance and hope you made a good decision on your stats and deal with the consequences later.

While I said Montana wants a better life for himself I'm unsure he wants to be a better person. He pretty much kills people without a second thought that they may be real like him. The entirety of the book he is living in denial about his past. Never questioning the world around him or how he even got his consciousness in the game.

Not to be sidetracked I still liked the book. It was a funny easy read. But I was in the mindset to learn about this game. How did he get here? Is he really dead? Will he meet people he knows? What if the game is shut off? Is he even in a game? Nothing was answered and I got too much inside my own head to enjoy it like I should have."
