INSTANT USA TODAY BESTSELLER“Witty and macabre.”—Caroline Kepnes"Slick and chilling."—Megan Miranda“I read all of her [books]. I've read everything.”—Cecily Strong from SNL for Vanity Fair“A perfect summer book.”—NPRUSA Today bestselling author Samantha Downing is back with her latest sneaky thriller set at a prestigious private school—complete with interfering parents, overeager students, and one teacher who just wants to teach them all a lesson… Teddy Crutcher has won Teacher of the Year at the prestigious Belmont Academy, home to the best and brightest. He says his wife couldn’t be more proud—though no one has seen her in a while. Teddy really can’t be bothered with a few mysterious deaths on campus that’re looking more and more like murder or with the student digging a little too deep into Teddy’s personal life. His main focus is pushing these kids to their full academic potential. All he wants is for his colleagues—and the endlessly meddlesome parents—to stay out of his way. If not, well, they’ll get what they deserve. It’s really too bad that sometimes excellence can come at such a high cost.

These teachers be on another level but this man Teddy oh my god is really on some Joe from
You vibes Teddy is literally a teacher virsion of Joe. His character was written so well he’s so pretentious and unlikeable lol but truly they all are. These character are so out of touch it almost feels like satire. The story did keep me on the edge of my seat there was a twist like every other chapter it's not much mystery more just shocking things these characters be thinking or doing like things just get out of hand so quick. There's not really any likable characters and since we know who the killer is vary early on it didn't have the feeling of being suspenseful or a mystery truthfully one of the more disturbing things in the way Teddy be drinking a whole cup of milk as a reward like he really be having psychopathic tendencies please like why was that so uncomfortable one of the more interesting parts of this book is the things we keep finding out about these characters like they always had me shocked. Interestingly enough Covid was mentioned but there's no mention of any masks or anything seems like it was kinda just thrown in there awkwardly. it was a Solid 3.5/5 couldn't give it a 4 because it's not an all 1 time favorite but I had fun reading and all the dark academia vibes were there."
"Una historia muy creativa y entretenida donde la venganza se sirve fría. 5/5 reread when you have a chance "

"Ah I love a book about a Prestigious School with rich bratty kids. You know the minute a minor wind blows they will go nuts. This is book was no exception, especially when the bodies started piling up T Bellstone Academy.
Lucky for them the Teacher of the Year, Teddy, takes his title seriously and he proves to be a very eccentric character. He thrived on glasses of white milk, a big no for me lol.

I loved the short characters, the multiple povs, involving many characters. Each character was highly developed.

The k you for the gifted copy"
"Good book, kept my attention, but I’ll probably forget details soon. Teddy is a teacher who thinks he knows what’s best for everyone and takes things into his own hands to get it done. Got a vasectomy and didn’t tell his wife, told a college he thought his student was a cheater, and now is poisoning teachers who need to be brought down a notch. Then it goes too far and he has to start killing everyone that’s on to him. Everyone has secrets and no one is innocent. Teddy ends up getting poisoned himself but an ex teacher called clergyman who found out what Teddy does."
