"This was the first western I ever saw that attempted to put the Black experience in context with the concept of the American cowboy. It has some silliness in it and it's not perfect; but, I loved it so much I wore a temporary tattoo from it for a while. As a Mario Van Peebles joint, I think this is one of his best offerings."
