"A great movie with great actors and actresses. Beautiful costumes of the era. It set place in Mexico during Porfirio Díaz reign. His daughter, Amada marries a promising politician Ignacio. Even though characters and place was real. Ignacio taking part of the the reunion of the 42 is fiction because there is no proof he was present. The reunion was of men only and some were as dressed as women and they were arrested. During that time being gay or transvestite was not good. I felt for Amada because she married this man for love. Ignacio use her to cover up his preferences and for political favors. "
