"Not to be confused with the famous musical, a 50 year old woman has been a house maid for her older brother the priest since the age of 16. When he dies, she is left penniless and with no one. However, she’s now free to pursue her own desires, even though she doesn’t know what those are. Set in the beautiful island nation of Malta in the late 70’s, it’s a slow, deliberate and melancholy movie. Some will find this boring and I understand why. However, it stars the alluring Natascha McElhone, who I’ve been in love with since seeing her for the first time in Californication. She and her most expressive face are worth the watch. "
