Scent of Time

"My new favorite C-drama and new favorite historical drama! Despite loving both leads, I actually had lowered expectations specifically towards the plot. I'm not sure where I read a description before I watched it, but it did not help make the show appealing. So, here is a summary of the first few minutes of episode 1: our FL is being chased, gets caught, realizes her family is dead, dies herself, is offered a do-over by the heavens, and is sent back to two years ago on her wedding night. What is significant about this is that within this scene it is revealed that she's the villain in her own story. That then made me question: why would the heavens offer her a second chance if she was the one wronging everyone? Usually this type of storyline lends itself to revenge stories, but this one was wildly different and I genuinely could not predict what was gonna happen next or how it would end. Would seriously recommend, especially if you liked The Double (which shares the same ML: Wang Xing Yue) or if you're a fan of the actors (FL: Zhou Ye). I will definitely be rewatching at some point, 11/10🍜🕯️"
